This screen is the nightmare for many of us, specially in the 9X version when Bsod reaches its glory (lol).

The major flaws of the current Windows are, in my opinion:

- A very slow startup.

Motorola Milestone (Droid) Froyo, some little works to do

It's time to put something new on this old Motorola Milestone (Droid in the Usa).

So, what do?

First point, a new launcher, the Froyo's launcher is *blearhg*.
For me the best is Go Launcher Ex for some reasons:
- better app drawer
- creation of directories in the app drawer and in the desktops
- gestures (if you want)
- possibility to hide dock bar and status bar (notify bar)
- multiple desktops (like original android home launcher)
- multiple docks
- widgets scaling
- choosing the grid dimension on the desktops
- choosing how icons appear on the desktop (black label, alpha label, no label etc...)
- tons of other stuff

This launcher works great in this phone (that has low ram)

Second point, rooting phone.
With the "root" you can use your phone as a super user, with this utility you can choose to grant SU permission to an App (Titanium Backup, etc...).

- Android mobile OS: downloads from the market and impressive number of activations, ICS (Android 4) is released
- Apple Iphone 4S: despite a few news and the same design, has sold a lot
- Tablets, tablets everywhere, Kindle gold year too

Flop:
- Samsung and Apple patents war: Apple is ruining its name with its patents troll war
- Apple MacOsx Lion: good sales, but a lot of bugs, many users complained
- Nintendo 3DS: nobody gives a sh** about this (no games)
- Sony was hacked a lot of times, stolen user data
- Duke Nukem 3D: after years proves a disappointment
- 3D Tv: who bought them?
- Google with Google Plus (can't beat Facebook) and Google Wave (it's closing)
- Chromebooks: google laptops that cost as a normal laptop but only work online

In the middle (can't say if is a top or a flop, next year maybe):
- Metro interface on Windows 8: we see only the Developer Preview so we can't say anything (waiting for Beta)

Minecraft: java issues

Yesterday a friend of mine had an issue running the .exe version of Minecraft.
Minecraft is a game developed in Java, so it needs JRE (Java Runtime Environment) if you want to play the "desktop" version, while the "browser" version needs only the java plugin for the browser.

Ok, my friend has installed Java 6.29, but... the system doesn't know the right path and Minecraft doesn't found the Java directory:

"Error: the registry refers to a nonexistent Java Runtime Environment installation or the runtime is corrupted."

Write java -version in the prompt (Run>cmd) for the Java version installed.

An "Error: could not open c:\Program Files\Java\jre6\lib\amd64\jvn.cfg" with a incorrect path...
The directory amd64 doesn't exists and the java installation is for an Intel cpu.

Java removing, java re-installing, system registry cleaning ... doesn't work.
Searching for this path in some registry key ... nothing
Setting a "path" variable in the system environment variables... nothing

The solution is there!
-Download the JavaMSIFix.exe that fixes the registry (where? I don't know, I destroyed my F3 button searching in the registry)
-Run it

A new launcher for your Android

The launcher in Android is like a desktop manager and my preferred one is GO Launcher EX.

With this launcher you can create folders in your app drawer, order apps, resize widgets, use themes and so on.

Very useful the option that removes the black background in the icon label and the 3 view modes in the app drawer (All, Recent, Running).

I was in love with the Princess, but this doesn't interfere with my judgement. :-D

Maybe.

I love the graphic style and the design of characters and levels.

I love the exchange of words between the two characters, which gives them a good personality (and their arguments and jokes are funny).

I love the stunts to be performed during the game.

The story isn't bad, but there are some bad points:

there is no gameover...
what you should do

When you fall down or when you died in another way the Princess helps you and puts you in the position like before you died.

It's a problem? For me not much, it's like a checkpoint, maybe is used too often...

What you should do? In the beginning of the game you know what you should do. You know everything.

You don't know some details, but you know WHAT you should do in the "infected lands" and where/what they are. Too obvious, it's like a routine task, your mind thinks "booooring!".

The only curiosity are: bosses, how levels are... but the actions are still known.

In conclusion a good game, maybe too repetitive, nice the two endings, both leave a bitter taste (ops, spoiler :-P, but the game is old).

There is a DLC for Xbox360.

Waiting for the new Tomb Raider

I am a big fan of the Tomb Raider saga, I have played the first trilogy on PlayStation (95>99) and then the other chapters like:
- Tomb Raider 4
- Tomb Raider Chronicles

One year ago I have played "Tomb Raider: Angel of Darkness" for PC, this chapter was a bit underestimated, but I like it so much.

The new generation games like:
- Tomb Raider Legend
- Tomb Raider Underworld
are nice games that I suggest, but the best is "Tomb Raider Anniversary", the remake of the original Tomb Raider. Awesome remake.
